Looking back and improving

Recently during the colder months I take time to go back and review what I have photographed in the past. I am reorganizing my Lightroom catalog with collections that force me to look at things differently.

I went back to our trip to New Mexico in October of 2012. I remember being dissatisfied with the photos I had taken on that trip. Because I grew up and live on the east coast, I was photographing scenes that were new to me. The same thing happened when I processed them on my computer. I was not sure what I was trying to capture and what I should do. Consequently, I didn't spend a lot of time with them.

I have also learned a few things in Lightroom since then. It is always nice to see
